At yesterday's meeting of headquarters of the Soldiers' Civil Re-establishment League the chairman, Major J. R. Kirk, offered the congratulations of members to Mr. H. Digb.v Smith on his recent appointment as Commissioner of Pensions. Mr. Digby Smith’s assistance and sympathy had been most, valuable. said Major Kirk, and headquarters greatly regretted the fact that ho would now require to resign.
