Lamb Prices Improve MUTTON MARKET • FIRMER Lamb market: Firmer with better prices. Consumption good. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes meeting with good demand at the advanced prices. Beef market: Frozen beef quiet with hindquarters firmer. Chilled beef, demand slow. New Zealand porker pigs: Market quiet but firm. New Zealand baeoner pigs: Firm, owing to short spot stocks. , The above report was received on Saturday by the Meat Board from its London office, which advises that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week, based on actual transaction ot wholesale quantities ot the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London stores.
