Mrs. Jerry Haycock, who has been staying in Marton with her mother, Mrs. Hazell, has returned to her home at Strathmore Pack. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Maefarlane and Miss Maefarlane have returned to Rafa Downs, Canterbury, after a brief visit to Wellington. ,

Miss Mardi Ward, Heretaunga, .returned to New Zealand by the Maunganui yesterday morning, after having spent several weeks in Sydney. Mrs. P. T. O’Regan, Island Bay, and Miss Rolland O’Regan, will leave by the Maunganui to-day for California and will return to New Zealand in November, via Honolulu and Suva. Lady Buckleton and Miss Jean Buckleton, Wellington, are staying with Mrs. A. I. Walker, Morrinsville. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Clayton, Palmerston North, who are on a motoring holiday in the north, will visit Napier and Wellington before returning home. A presentation was made recently to Miss Luh; Dyer (Mrs. Alexander Mclntosh) from the Liverpool and Loudon and Globe Insurance Company, the manager and staff, consisting of some handsome silver. This was accompanied with a letter expressing good wishes for the future happiness of the bride and bridegroom.

PARTY AT GREYTOWN A very enjoyable evening was spout recently, in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Greytown, when a party was held to celebrate the comlng-of-age of Miss Norma Langford. Dancing was enjoyed until a late hour, the duties of M.C. being carried out by Mr. T. Morgan. During the evening there was a musical competition, which was won by Miss Q. Hills, who, with her partner, also won the monte carlo waltz. During supper, ■ Mr. T. Morgan proposed a toast to Miss Langford and wished her luck. The party was •brought to a close .by the singing of .“Auld Lang Syne,”
