The death occurred recently at Doon, near Kitchener. Ontario, where he was born and had lived most of his life, of Mr Homer Watson, who was the first elected member of the Royal Canadian Academy, of which he was president. 1918-22. Mr. Watson, who was 80, was one of the foremost landscape painters of Canada, and he also painted some notable war pictures.
