BOXING CONTEST
Australian Beats Hawes By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, July 24. The Australian feather and junior lightweight champion, Joe Hall, 9st. Gib., scored a snappy win over Percy Hawes (Christchurch). Ssl. 131 b„ by a technical knockout in the third round of a scheduled 15-round professional boxing contest. There was a big attendance for a bout that proved disappointing, Hawes clearly being no match for the visitor.
