CONSECRATION AND ENTHRONEMENT
New Bishop of Wellington
Attended by six bishops from various New Zealand dioceses, the Primate of New Zealand, Archbishop Averill, at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow in St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral will consecrate Archdeacon H. St. Barbe Holland as Bishop -of Wellington. It is expected that up to 50 of the clergy of the diocese will attend the ceremony. Admission to the church will be by ticket only. Youth’s part in the celebrations surrounding the new bishop’s consecration and enthronement will be a combined rally arranged by the Young Men’s and Young Women’s Anglican Bible Class Unions. This will be held in St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral to-morrow afternoon at 4. The Bishop of Nelson will give the address and the Archbishop, with at least some of the other visiting bishops, is expected to be present. Representatives from the youth movements of other Christian denominations have been invited to attend. The enthronement will take place on Monday evening at 8 o’clock, and a special service for the occasion lias been compiled by Canon James. At this service the newly-consecrated bishop will preach. In addition to the other bishops who will be present on Monday evening, between 60 and 70 of the clergy of the diocese are expected to attend.
