Fair to fine in western districts; elsewhere cloudy to overcast.

Weather mainly fair in western districts from Taranaki southward; elsewhere still cloudy to overcast, and in places misty or foggy, with occasional showers or drizzling rain ; temperatures cold. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER. Wellington.— Dull and misty, with drizzly rain at times. A light southerly wind blew The minimum temperature on Thursday night was 43deg., the maximum yesterdav 46.6 deg., and the temperature at 3 p.m. yesterday was 46deg. Rainfall at “The Dominion” building for 24 hours ended midnight, .06in. Total for month. 3.71 in.; for year, 31.12 in. • Palmerston North. — Brilliant sunshine; light passing clouds; practically no wind. Masterton.— Fine but overcast; light westerly breeze Wanganui.— Fine and sunny after a heavy fog; light westerly wind. .... Waipukurau.—A hard frost in the early morning was succeeded by a bright, Auckland^—A 1 moderate northerly wind and cloudy and unsettled weather. A thick fog was experienced for six hours during the early morning. After falling .10in. during the afternoon, the barometer remained steady at J'J.bmn. Clu-isfchurch. — Overcast, with showers in the morning and early afternoon.. The maximum temperature was 46.7 deg., and the barometer was steady at 30in. Dunedin. — Dull and overcast, with a steady soaking drizzle accompanied by a light south-east breeze. The temperature remained low, the maximum recorded at midday being 49deg. The barometer was steady in the vicinity ot 30.10 in.
