REPERTORY ARTS BALL
In connection with the forthcoming Repertory Arts Ball to be held in the Town Hall on October 9, a spectacular poster parade is being arranged. This should be one of the most attractive features of the evening. The committee is wisely limiting the number to 30 entries so that each group can be displayed to the best advantage. An advertisement appears elsewhere in this issue calling for entries, and judging by the interest already aroused early application is advisable.
The committee organising the collections for the National Art Gallery gift portrait fund report that amounts received up to the present are most encouraging. The authorised collectors carry books in which the donors sign their names, and subscriptions should be paid only to those who have these books. A meeting to discuss further arrangements will be held in the council chamber of the Town Hall on Monday. The Mayoress (Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop) will preside, and Mrs. G. W Forbes and Mrs. Knox Gilmer will address those present.
