Ringing The Changes On A One-Piece Frock
Sleeve, waistline and skirt length can all play their part in deciding fashion at different times. But in some ways the most decisive feature is the neckline.
Neck treatment cau turn a morning dress into a smart afternoon affair or into a chic cinema or cocktail party frock.
Any simple pattern could serve as a foundation for the attractive variations sketched here. ,
The corded or shirred yoke of same or contrasting material is detachable. The square neck may be simply finished off with ready-made novelty trimming, or ribbon may be used. The “window-box’’ flower garniture would look well in taffeta or satin for cinema or cocktail party wear. As a simple little holiday-time or summer frock it would look well in gingham, linen, or one of the many pretty cotton fabrics. For smarter wear, satin, taffeta, silk crepe and all the novelty silks suggest themselves. ®
