LIVE STOCK MARKET
Feilding Sale Easier Dominion Special Service. Feilding, July 24. There was a quieter tone about the live stock market to-day. last Friday’s advances proving too high to last, and though a good clearance in all sections resulted prices everywhere were of a lower average. Over 5000 sheep were offered. This included a heavy proportion of fat ewes, best sorts of which fell by about 1/- a head. Fat wethers sold at a slight reduction, except for extra prime, which reached 33/6, about 2/above last week. Fair lines of breeding ewes were offered and found the market restricted. Store wether hoggets found a strong demand, while ewe hoggets sold oh a par with last Friday. A very heavy yarding of dairy cattle of less than first-class quality found prices generally distinctly easier. The small yarding of store cattle was principally boner cows, which sold at late rates. There was a good demand for forward Jersey
cows and yearling heifers. The fat cattle pens included some lines of inferior quality and in some cases vendors’ ideas of values were too high, only very prime sellinc readily.
