PALESTINE PROBLEM
Personnel of Commission to be Announced
(British Official Wireless.) Rugby, July 22. The Colonial Secretary, Mr. W. Ormsby-Gore, stated in reply to a question in the House of Commons that he hoped to announce the personnel of the Palestine Commission and the terms of reference next Wednesday. The commission obviously could not go to Palestine, where the position, he said, was still serious, until sufficient order was restored to enable it to make an investigation. Replying to another question, Mr. Ormsby-Gore referred to a suggestion that there should be a temporary suspension of immigration while the commission carries out its inquiry, and said he was not at present in a position to make any statement as to the intentions of the Government beyond saying that its decision would be taken in due course on the merits of the case and would not be influenced by violence or attempts at intimidation.
