COLD-CHISELLED LIVE SHELLS
Lucky Auckland Man By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 23. For two shillings a resident of Birkenhead bought four shells of the German whizzbang type, desiring to have the brass casings. The result being positive in nature, he promptly handed them over to the police and later they were taken possession of by officers of the Defence Department. “The shells are very much alive,” said one of the officers. “The man who attempted to open one with a cold chisel is lucky to be living ”
