BOYS’ INSTITUTE WORK
Street Appeal to be Held At the recent monthly meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Boys’ Institute, over which Mr. W. A. Parton presided, arrangements for a street day appeal to be held on September 10 were discussed, and a sub-committee was set up to assist the director in its organisation. The director reported that the gymnastic classes, games room, scout group. Soccer and Rugby practice had been well attended during the month. The large attendance of young boys had caused some congestion in the club rooms, and the boarders’ sitting room had been called into use to accommodate the overflow. Cocoa and biscuits before closing time during the winter months had proved very popular.
