ABYSSINIAN ATTACK
Severe Fighting at Addis Ababa BOTH SIDES LOSE HEAVILY By Telegraph —Pres-s Assn. —Copyright. (Received July 23, 1.5 a.m.) Cairo, July 22. The Egyptian Consul at Addis Ababa telegraphs to the Government that severe fighting at Addis Ababa resulted in heavy losses to both sides. The Italian garrisons at Harar and Jijiga are virtually confined to the towns while the Abyssinians rove neighbouring country unchecked.
In an earlier message the Consul reported that large forces of Abyssinians were advancing on Addis Ababa. There had been severe fighting with heavy casualties.
Ras Seyoum is advancing from another direction in an effort to link up with the other forces.
