APOLLO SINGERS
The first subscription concert of the Wellington Apollo Singers is to be held in the Town Hall Concert Chamber next Thursday evening. The choir, under the conductorship of Mr. H. Temple YVhitc. will present a number of new part-songs and glees, a feature of the programme being the performance of the “Ka-Ha Chorus” from Alfred Hill’s “Hinemoa. ’ In memory of their late president, the lute Sir Francis Bell, the choir will sing Robert Louis Stevenson's “Requiem," specially arranged for male voices by Mr. Temple White. The assisting artists will be Miss' Christina Ormiston, who will be heard in a group of soprano solos, and Mr. T.ron de Manny, well-known violinist. Mr. de Manny, who needs no introduction to Wellington music-lovers, will play “The Adagio from the Concerto in G Minor” (Max Bruch), and Vlenxtempts’ “Ballade and Polonaise. The accompanist will be Mrs. R. G, Caigou. The programme is an attractive one aud patrons are advised to book early.
