A GOOD YEAR

Seatoun Bowling and Tennis Club

The annual report of the Seatoun Bowling Club states that the past year was an extremely disappointing one from the point of view of postponed matches caused by wet weather, but had despite this been most enjoyable and successful in other directions. Financially, the company has shown a decided improvement, due to the energy of the social committee, the successful whole-day and week-end tournaments, and also the efforts of the croquet ladies in their card evenings.

The bowling membership was 57 full members, with two honorary, one I’ta, and two week-end members. The croquet membership remains at the maximum of 20, and . the tennis membership shows a slight increase. Special thanks, the report continues, are due to the ladies for the great interest they have shown, and the excellent service they have rendered in connection with: all the club’s official functions, and also in connection with the effort of the croquet ladies in the card evenings, resulting in considerable financial assistance to the company. The willing assistance of the ladies at all times was greatly appreciated. The club also wishes to express its gratitude to those members who have so willingly placed their motorcars at the disposal of the memb.'rs. During the season Mr. R. 8. Aiward presented the company with a silver cup for annual competition, and ’ requested that it be competed for by a two-bowl double. Thanks are returned to Mr. Aiward for his donation.
