Sydney .Snow, a prominent Sydney business man, K.B. Dr. H. A. Newton, Melbourne; Richard Liuton, Agent-General for Victoria in London; Emeritus Professor Francis Anderson, Sydney ; Dr. Charles Bickerton Blackburn, Sydney. C.B.E, Hugh Hamilton Newell, Commissioner of Main Roads, Sydney; M. C, Boniwell, Assistant Parliamentary Draughtsman, Canberra; James Harnctty, Victorian Public Service Commissioner. C.B. Engineer-Commander R. A. McNeill. Mr. J. A. Lyons, C.H., was born in Tasmania in 1879 and was educated in Tasmania. He was a member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly from 1909 to 1929, being Treasurer from 1914 to 1916, Leader of the State Labour Party from 1916 to 1929, and Premier and Treasurer from .1923 to 1928. Since 1929 he has been a member of the Commonwealth House of Representatives. He was Postmaster-General in 1929-30 and Treasurer in 1930. He then seceded from the Labour Party on a matter of principle, became Leader of the Opposition in 1931 and, at the end of the year, led the United Australia Party to victory in the elections, since which he has been Prime Minister and Treasurer. He was made a Privy Councillor in 1932. Sir William Irvine, G.C.M.G., was born in Ireland and entered politics after having been a school teacher and then having been called to the Bur. In 190203 he was Premier and Attorney-General of Victoria after having served a previous term as Attorney-General. He was appointed Chief Justice and Lieu-tenant-Governor of Victoria in 1918, but retired from the former office last October. / Sir Robert Parkhill was born at Sydney in 1879. and has had a long connection with polities. He first attained Cabinet rank in 1932. since which 'time he has successively held several portfolios. Sir Richard Linton, who was born in Scotland’ and educated at Palmerston North, New Zealand, is a retired paper and machinery merchant. He founded the Big Brother Movement in Australia in 1924 and became its president. He was an honorary Minister in the McPherson Government of 1929. Secretary to the Argyle Cabinet of 1932-33 and has been AgentGeneral since July, 1933. His wife was formerly Miss Ethel Bannister, of Wellington. Sir Francis Anderson is emeritus professor of philosophy at Sydney University and was a fellow of the senate and dean of the faculty of arts.'
