Wellington Travel Club
Activities
It was reported to a recent meeting of the Wellington Travel Club, over which Mr. G. G. Stewart presided, that a party of 12 American women school teachers from Hawaii would shortly tour the Dominion, and would arrive in Wellington early iu July. It was decided to entertain those visitors at a social gathering, which would constitute the official opening of the club’s activities.
A small committee, with Mr. H. F. Wood as chairman, was appointed an entertainment committee. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. H. G. Miller, who is proceeding to America, and'eulogistic reference xvas made.to. the enthusiasm be had displayed to forward the interests of the club. Mr. Miller said he proposed to take books of photographs of New x Zealand scenic resorts to show to members of chambers of commerce in America. Miss N. E. Donovan, lion, secretary, reported that interest, in the club was niarked, and many letters had been received asking for information. The membership is steadily increasing, aud is now approximately 100.
