Trouble on the Kartigi
Dominion Special Service.
Auckland, June 21
The Kartigi was delayed during the week-end because of trouble with the crew. The vessel was to sail for Westport on Saturday afternoon, but when sailing time came the men refused to take the vessel to sea until alterations were made to the messroom table. When Captain Waters, the master, reported the matter to the local management of the Union Steam Ship Company, the men were promptly discharged, and were informed that meals would not be supplied to them on board during the. 'week-end. They are to be paid off on Monday, and the vessel’s departure is postponed indefinitely.
