Miss Lois Mcllroy, Island-Bay, will leave by the Makura next Wednesday for a visit to Australia. She will stay with her aunt, Mrs. Sprott, Chatswood, and will be chief bridesmaid to her cousin, M'iss Iris Sprott, who will be married early in July. . Mrs. Kenneth Ballantyne and her sister, Mrs. H. S. Williams, Christchurch, will pass through Wellington next week to join the Mariposa at Auckland on their way to Los Angeles. They will spend a short holiday in California, returning to Christchurch in the second week in August. Mrs. Maire M. Arthur, New Plymotith, who is organising director in New Zealand of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women, is visiting England and the Continent. She will represent New Zealand at the International Congress of Business and Professional Women in Paris in July. Mrs. E. Valois, The Terrace, gave a very cheery' bridge party on Thursday evening for Mrs. George Cloake, Lyall Bay, who will leave shortly for Palmerston North. Mrs. Cloake received many good wishes and a charming gift during the evening. Among those present were: Mesdames Anderson, Andrews, Murray, and Misses N. and V.
