ATHLETIC FAREWELL
A farewell .wag tendered Mr. J. Phillips, who is leaving for Ceylon next week, by the Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic Club on Wednesday. Mr. Phillips has performed consistently in sprint races, in the 220 yards low hurdles and in the lons iump. The Mayor, Mr. J. W. Andrews, presented Mr. Phillips with a toilet outfit with leather case on behalf of the club. Mr. Melrose also expressed the club’s regret at his departure, and for the Hutt Rugby Football Club, Mr. Marshall voiced similar sentiments. Li returning thanks, Mr. Phillips said that on his return he would again join un with the club.
