Dairy Cattle in Demand

FEILDING SALE Dominion Special Service. Feilding, June 19. The dairy cattle market continues firm art was evidenced at the live stock sale to-day, when a heavy yarding of springing heifers and springing cows was offered and a total clearance made, though no fancy prices were received. The de.mand for heifers, especially those close to calving dates, was quite pronounced, and had the general quality been better there would have been a milch higher range of prices. The store cattle section was heavily stocked with boner cows, prices for which were rather easier. Some station fiat tie sold at good prices and forward condition dairy cows found a ready market. The fat cattle market was easy, good heavy prime beef cows selling at 20/- per 1001 b. and prime steers at 25/-. The fat sheep market was firm for wethers and ewes. Exceptionally heavy woolled prime wethers made 29/-, and very heavy ewes 23/-. Fat lambs, however, were down appreciably owing to the inferiority of the offering. The store sheep market was choppy, giving auctioneers an uneasy voyage. Breeding ewes were very up and down, giving no indication of value levels. A fairly good demand existed for store lambs.
