PREVENTING BORER IN WOODEN BUILDINGS. NEW METHOD OF TREATMENT. It is a well-known fact that most wooden structures in New Zealand suffer from borer. In fact, every house, new or old, is subject to borer and dryrot and thousands of pounds are lost annually through the damage done by these pests. It is interesting to learn that a company operating in the South Island has at last discovered an exterminator that kills borer, stops dryrot and preserves any wood to which it is applied. All over the South Island homes, furniture and outbuildings have been treated with “Boracure.” Contracts have been carried out with the Government and valuable public buildings have been preserved against the ravages of this pest. Just recently, the new church at Hokitika, West Coast, South Island, was treated throughout with “Boracure.” Analytical chemical reports confirm the permanent poisoning properties of “Boracure” and prove it is efficient in destroying borer and one treatment lasts a lifetime. Several homes in Wellington are at present being treated and the company is now carrying on operations in the North Island.
