Mr. T. W. Bearup, a member of the Australian Broadcasting Commission, following a study of American conditions, informed the Australian Associated Press News Agency that three aspects of broadcasting in the United States were particularly impressive. These were the unremitting effort to make educational programmes and even charitable appeals entertainment first, the care and expense lavished on acoustical facilities at studios, and, finally, the high technical proficiency of broadcasting transmission. Following a fortnight’s stay at New, York, Mr. Bearup will proceed to Europe to continue his inquiries.
