A 5500-year-old Tomb.— The tomb of an Egyptian Princess of the Fourth Dynasty, which reigned about the year 3600 B.C., has been discovered near the Second Pyramid. Though the entrance (indicated in the picture by a cross) is small, the tomb is a huge structure 49 feet wide. 82 feet long and 19 feet high. Apart from an incursion of mud, it was intact, and has given up some unique archeological treasures.
