FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.

Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day :— An intense anti-cyclone lies centrally over the Dominion. A shallow depression is located over the western Tasman Sea and moving slowly eastward. South-east to north-east winds at first north of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint, but gradually tending more northerly, force light but later freshening; north to north-west winds elsewhere and moderate to strong; a change to west or south-west later in the southern part of the South Island. A considerable southerly swell at first between Hawkes Bay and East Cape, and rough about Fovcaux Strait: elsewhere in New Zealand waters seas slight to moderate, but later rising south of Cape Egmont. Li"ht to moderate northerly winds, freshening gradually, in the eastern Tasman Sea; changing Io south-west shortly in the southern portion. Seas slight, to moderate, but increasing. . , ~ .
