EXCURSIONS TO CHATEAU
The co-operation of the Railways and Tourist Departments in providing another series of low-cost week-end trips to Chateau Tongariro is pleasing many people. The excursion figures to date indicate that this enterprise will be again very successful throughout the enowspo’rts season. Complete facilities are available for ioyous exercise on the great snowfields. Exnert instructors quickly ensure eki skill for beginners. Some of the visitors prefer scenic walks in the wonderland of mountains. At night the cosy Chateau, recognised as one of the best hostels of New Zealand, offers music, dancing, billiards or bridge, or quiet places for reading, chatting or story-tell-ing.
