Rail-car Trials.— During the week-end the shop trials of the first of the rail-cars built at the Railway Workshops, in the Hutt Valley, will be made over sections of the main lines between Wellington, Palmerston North, and the Wairarapa, including a climb over the Rimutaka incline. Above is a picture showing one or the cars in course of construction in the workshops.
