S.M., in Ihe Magistrate's Court, Wellington, yesterday, in dismissing charges against three youllis of theft at Dunedin of three garden ornaments nnd a charge of receiving against a fourth. The four, whose names were suppressed, were members of a Wellington surf club and the magistrate do-cribed their actions as a regrettable prank. They had, lie said, frankly admitted the offence, and in view of their previous exemplary behaviour he would remove from them the stigma of a recorded conviction. An order was made for the return of the property.
