From tho Canadian Government Trade Commissioner at Auckland has been received a copy of “Canada 1936,” the official handbook of present conditions and recent progress iu the Dominion of Canada, It is a well compiled, comprehensive, and fully indexed publication. To everyone interested in Canada and its affairs, as well as everyone interested in Empire affairs, it is indispensable. It deals with all phases of Canadian life and gives descriptive and statistical information on every industry, as well as illustrating" the articles by fine photographs. There are also articles dealing with Canada’s national playgrounds, the various races of people in Canada, the forest wealth, agriculture, mines and minerals. Of particular interest are the charts showing the way in which the people weathered the economic blizzard. The book is a mine of useful information.
