SOCCER AT THE BASIN
The two senior games set down for the Basin Reserve to-day should be ofJ uteres t to all Soccer supporters. On No. 1 ground the unbeaten Seatoun team will meet Marist. Seatoun, who were the winners of last season’s senior B championship, are making a great bid to win the A grade this season, and their performances to date have been of a high order. Marist, on the other hand, have lost only one game this season. Yhey have now settled down into a great side, ami will be all out to inflict the first defeat on their opponents. Both sides consist of young players who play fast, open football. On No. 2 ground the game between Swifts and D amends should also he full of interest. A win in this game will have a decided bearing upon relegation, and, knowing this, the players of both sides will be sure to give of their best. As the team to play Australia will shortly be selected, all players will be out to catch the selector's eye. Two good curtain-raisers will be played.
