BANK DIRECTORATE

Vacant Government Positions MR. H. J. KELLIHER A LIKELY CANDIDATE Finality in the selection of two Government nominees to the directorate oi the Bank of New Zealand has not yet been reached. In view of the fact that such appointments are nearly two months overdue, tliere is much speculation about the men whom the Government is likely to appoint to IHI Hie positions vacated by Sir Harold beatlcltamp and Mr. Oliver Nicholson. It is expected that the field of choice will be restricted to men who. to some extent, are in proved sympathy with the general financial policy of the Government; nncl it is more than likely that Mr. 11. J. Kelliher, of Auckland, may be a strong candidate for one ot the vacancies.
