Yesterday’s Business RETURN ON INVESTMENTS Salos recorded on Dominion stock exchanges yesterday are shown in the following list. In the second column is given the return based on the last annual dividend from investment at the quoted price. I n calculating the return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates have not been taken into consideration, lhe return on 4 per cent. Government loans includes redemption. In the case of per cent, loans the return is for the Interest alone, and covers only the period for which the loans are tax-free:—

National Bank of Australasia The board of directors of the National Bank of Australasia, Ltd., meeting reelected Sir James A. JI. Elder, K.8.E., and the Hon. Sir Frank Clark, K.8.E., JI.L.C., chairman and vice-chairman respectively for the qsuing year. Tlte above message, which was received by cable, dated Mav 28, is from the chief manager of the National Batik of Australasia, Ltd., Jlolbourne, for which the National Bank of New Zealand acts as New Zealand agents. Zinc Corporation Dividend The directors of the Zine Corporation. Limited, have declared a participating dividend of 2/6 per share on both preference and ordinary shares, less English income tax at 2/10} in the £l. making a total participating dividend of 4/(i per share for the year ended December 31. 1935; also the first half fixed cumulative dividend of 2/- per share on the tireference shares for the year ended December 31, 1,936, less English income tax nt 2/9 in the £l. Both dividends will be tw'd on July 1. in English currency. Transfer books will close at 12 noon on June 6. and reopen on June 9.
