HELPING EX-SOLDIERS
War Relief Association It was reported to the monthly meeting of the Wellington War Relief Association yesterday by the secretary that he had been informed by the Unemployment Board that the returned soldiers camp at Paraparaumu might, be closed down, and the men fit for jobs would leate Cd Nhiety-six applications, it was reported,* had been disposed of during thei mon h, and 41 were still under action. Ti c cha rman Mr. C. M. Luke, commented on. the fact ’that the number of applications since the last meeting had increased sligntiyReporting on behalf of the nnd emergency committees, of which h is chairman, Mr. L. O. H. T ripp , that there had been no alteration in the general activities of the committee.. Assistance differing widely in description had been given to disabled soldiers, to men who were discharged fit and subsequently developed a war disability, to the of soldiers who fell in action, and or others dying of natural causes. Assistance had also been given to many others in necessitous circumstances, and in many directions thtit cannot be referred to within the limits of the report
