A very pleasant afternoon was spent on* Wednesday at the home of Mrs. J. E Lopdell, St. Stephen’s Manse, Lower Hutt, when past members of the Women’s

Christian Temperance Union were entertained by present members. The hostesses provided afternoon tea, the programme being contributed to by Mrs. .-,eiberzeit and Mrs. Taylor, who sang, and by Mrs Clark and Mrs. Smith, who rave piano items. Mrs Lopdell rend exerpts from Isabel Cameron’s “The Doctor. Bronze anti creme were the tasteful decoration--During the afternoon, business relating to the union was discussed, and Mrs. Lo] - dell was thanked for placing her home at the disposal of the guests, of whom there were about 30.
