TOO REALISTIC!
scenes were being shot by the Gainsborough Picture Company for a picture called “The Wrecker,” at the village of Las'ham. near Alton, Miss Anna Kraft, one of the actresses, was injured in an unrehearsed car smash. Several shots of a car skidding had been taken, and the accident occurred during tiie final filming. Instead of skidding, the car turned over, Miss Kraft was thrown out on the road, and the ear crashed into and smashed the camera.
Miss Kraft was taken to Alcon Hospital suffering front severe shock and bruises. The result of an X-ray examination of her injuries has not yet been revealed, but it is believed that she will be in hospital for some time. In 1928 the Basingstoke to Alton light railway was used by the same company to stage a train wreck for 3 silent version of “The Wrecker.” A southern railway train, consisting of an engine ami six coaches, was sent travelling at express speed to crash into a steam truck at the bottom of an incline. The truck was smashed to pieces, and the whole of the train wrecked.
