Air Race Disaster (From "The Dominion,” Muy 23, mil.) A terrible disaster occurred on the aerodrome at Issy, just-outside Paris. Prior to the start of the air race from Paris to Madrid, an aeroplane got out of control and swept down on the Ministerial party, killing General Berteaux, the Minister for War, and severely injuring the Prime Minister. M. Monis. A vast crowd numbering some hundreds of thousands was present on the ground to witness the start of the race, which was one of the principal aviation events of the season in France. Reuter's Paris correspondent reports that M. Mouis’s presence in Parliament was considered indispensable at the present juncture, especially in connection with electoral reform. Some of the Ministers share the impression that the Cabinet must resign. * * * The celebration organised in connection with the jubilee of the discovery of gold at Gabriel’s Gully commenced at Lawrence yesterday.
