The election ot directors at the annual meeting of the Southland Caledonian Society was proceeding smoothly until it was mentioned that, by the rules, two-thirds of the directorate must be of Scottish descent Thete were some hasty mental excursions back to family trees, but only a few branches had been examined before it was decided to bow to the chairman s decision that the rule be waived.
