Public utterances in various quarters of the globe make it increasingly clear that the League’s future must carefully be examined. The Archbishop of Canterbury admits that all ideas centred on the League have failed and urges its reconstruction if civilisation is to be protected. AGITATION IN INDIA Move For Leaving League (Received May 17, 7.45 p.m.) Simla, May 16. A strong agitation, is being fostered throughout the country for India’s withdrawal from the League owing to its ineffectiveness in protecting weaker nations. The subject will be raised with hostile intent at tlie next session of the Indian Congress.
