HOMING PIGEONS
Wellington Society’s Show The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society continued its series of weekly shows in its showroom in Newtown Avenue on Saturday night before a large attendance of interested fanciers and friends. The class was for yearling hens, for which there was an entry of 59 splendid pigeons, as against 32 eu trice last year. The judge was Mr. J. Bock, late of Masterton, and he had a very diflicuU job to decide the placings. The winner received a silver cup donated by Mr. S. Dickey, and also good prize money. Pigeons were entered by Nelson, Hutt, Petone and Wellington fanciers. Following are the results: —A Clements, 1, and cup; E. Webster and Son, 2; J. Bolton, Petone, 3; L. Petains, v.li.c.; A. Croskery and Son, h.c.; Diekey Bros., c. Next Saturday the show will be lor young birds flown 1(H) miles or over —a class for cocks and a class for liens, to be judged by Mr. K. Hoare. Admission is free to all shows.
