Wellington Market Active AUSTRALIANS IN FAVOUR The outstanding feature ot a very active market on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday was the large volume of business done in Australian industrial and trading issues, which accounted tor 27 of the 43 sales recorded. New Zealand shares were comparatively neglected and showed little or no change in prices. There was a fair inquiry for Government loans and a fairly large parcel ot 3| per cent, stock, March, 1939-43, was reported sold late on Saturday at £lOl 10/-. The 4 per cent, stocks and bonds, 1955, had buyers in at £lO5/15/-. Banks were steady, with the exception of New Zealand®, two parcels of winch sold on Saturday at 45/-. buyers staying m yesterday at 45/4. Australian industrial and trading concerns were a strong market. G. J. Coles advanced on active trading to ib/-. three later sales being made at u/9. Broken Hill Proprietary were firm on business at 64/9. Hunlop-Perdriaus improved to 16/6 and Amalgamated Wireless went .at 50/6. Australian Glass made further gains on sales at. 90/3 and 90/G. Woolworths were active, the New Zealan I ordinaries selling Ui £</•;>/- and the Sy ner issue at £9/15/-.
