McGREGOR APPEAL
£3945 Noav in Bank “The amount in Hie bank to Hie credit of the McGregor Fund now totals £3945, including Hie £5OO contributed by the Government,” stated Mr. AVeinstein, president, of the New Zealand Aero Club, at yesterday’s meeting, and he added that Union Airways had "played the game very handsomely.” Mr. AVeinstein said he thought the response had been very satisfactory. It had shown that Squadron Leader McGregor had been regarded as a national figure. Those who had contributed had done so willingly and had ensured the future for Mrs. McGregor and the children. The appeal had been well justified. The committee in charge wished to have the fund completed shortly, so that, the money might be handed over to duly appointed trustees, and tliey wished that clubs and others still holding moneys for the fund should advise them of the amounts without delay. Mr. H. L. Patterson (Otago) praised tlie quick manner in which Hie committee responsible had taken the matter in hand, and on his motion the club recorded its appreciation. Fraser Fund. Mr. Spencer Mason (Auckland) said that the "Scotty” Fraser Fund had now reached a total of £214/16/1, which included a donation of £l5 from the AVellington Aero Club, and there was definitely more to come from AA ellington. In connection with this fund, Mr. C. W. Batten, vice-president of the 'Vellington Aero Club, reports that he has received and paid into the I mid the following amounts: Columbia Pictures’ community sing (held at St. James Theatre), £B/19/6; Fraser Benefit Dance (held at Miss Margaret O’Connor’s studio), per Mr. Petrie, £-’.
