Exhibition at Bowen House Many excellent oil paintings are being shown in Bowen House at present. There is a large number of animal studies from the brush of Mrs. )Y biteman. tiie well-known YVanganui artist, and the larger room is given over to a number of landscapes and seascapes, the work of Mr. Marcus King. YY’ellington. Tiie paintings of farm animals by Mrs. YY’li/iteman are well-known for their naturalness. This artist, whose work resembles clsely the style of Lucy Keni|)-YVelch. paints all her pictures on her own stud farm, so that she has n splendid basis for her work. Mr. Marcus King’s collection contains both old and new canvases. One work with a particular appeal to Wellington people depicts a sunset over Evans Bay nn a foggy day. the scene being from the beach at Mfi-nnuir looking across toward Kilbirnio. Mr. King lias. 100. brought a beautiful atmosphere into Higgins Hill. YVaikanae.
