Autumn Magic

There is magic in the autumn woods, And magic in th 6 sweet spring air, It also lurks in summer showers Even in winter time it’s near. Just rest among the tall grasses And watch the waving ears of wheat, You’re sure to hear the faint rustle Of fairy gown or tiny feet. In springtime they are everywhere, No need to wander far from home. But ’mongst the fragrant apple blooms I'm sure tile wee folk lore to roam. In summer when the roses bloom, And soft war in breezes stir the air They’ll waft to you the lilt of music Distant, faint, but strangely clear. Cold winter is the Snow Queen’s Joy, She sends her subjects far and wide To shake the tine white powder round And mantle each tree like a bride. —Valerie (15), Palmerston Nth.
