New Legislation In Sight
The first Instalment of the Government’s proposed mortgage legislation is likely to appear In the House of Re presentatives early next week, accord ing to a statement made last night by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M. J Savage, in an interview. The Mort gage Corporation Amendment Bill, pro viding for Slate control of the corporation along the lines followed in tak Ing over the Reserve Bank, is in the hands of the Law Draftsman and is nearly completed. It will be followed as soon as possible by a Bill providing for a readjustment of all mort gages on the basis of the guaranteed price.
