HOT-WATER PROBLEM SOLVED

Wellington-Made Heater No domestic problem can be more irritating than the hot water-one. There is generally plenty of water, but not enough that is hot. Or else it takes too long to heat it- Or the heating of enough is too expensive. Or somebody forgets to turn on the heating apparatus when it should be turned on. There are heaters and beaters, and the housewife quite often gets one that is not a heater, but only ti nuisance and a worry. In Wellington, however, a New Zealand firm, 11. N. Maunder, Ltd., is manufacturing a scientific, economic, electric hot water heater which has been designed to provide exactly what the housekeeper wants, and whenever it is wanted. The '-Zip'’ heater has some characteristics which should recommend it to all those persons who experience difficulty in getting a ready supply of hot water. Portable, this heater can be fastened to the wall above the sink, if it is required for cooking purposes, or, if a larger one is wanted for the bathroom, above the bath or basin. From the heater a pipe is run to the cold water tap, to which it is attached by a special tap which manipulates the flow of water in such a way that water can either be run from the cold water tap or diverted into tlie heater, so that tho housewife can have instantaneously either cold or boiling water.

The bath heater and a general house service are two more of (lie firm’s manufactures. The smallest bath heater made provides 10 gallons of hot water daily for 3/6 a month. Five gallons can be used in the morning, and the other five in the evening, and tlie second portion is just as hot as the first. The house service can be supplied to any size wanted; a big SO gallons service tlie firm installed at Wellington can give four baths a day besides hot water that may bo required for sinks, hand basins, tubs and electric washing machines.
