NO ANNOUNCEMENT TO BE MADE YET
Money From Nuffield Fund INVESTING OF AMOUNT TAKING TIME Nv announcement, of the funds available for expenditure by tlie branches of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society on its special work this year will be made until the conference of branch delegates and tlie central executive, to be held shortly. This was the answer given to a question at tlie first annual meeting of the Wellington branch last niirlil, when the president, Mrs. Knox Gilmer, asked Mr. Malcolm Eraser what amount the branch could expect from the Nuffield fund and from money which has been raised during the year. Mr. Fraser said the investing of such an amount took time, especially since the society wished to obtain tlie maximum amount of interest it could. ’The first year’s income was £l3OO. It would be preferable, however, to wait until the conference before tlie branch began to make any distribution of money. Mrs. Knox Gilmer said some members of the public and members of the branch were wondering whether the capital of the fund could be used if a special project were put forward. Mr. Frijser replied that the society bad power to use the capital if a worthy project were put forward, but tlie manner in which tlie capital was used rested with tin; trustees.
