CANADIAN LECTURER

Dr. David Lang to Visit New Zealand A man of outstanding personality and ability, the Rev. David Lang, M.A., D.D., of Canada, will arrive in Auckland by the Niagara on May 11. Dr. Lang is on a lecture tour of New Zealand and Australia, and arrangements have been completed for him to deliver a series of lectures on Canada in the main centres of the Dominion. Each lecture will be fully illustrated, for which purpose Dr,. Lang is bringing a number of the latest moving pictures and coloured slides. Dr. Lang was born in Ontario, and is a graduate of the Manitoba University, of New College, Edinburgh, and of Hie Union Seminary, New York. For

tnnny years he was a missionary in the mining districts of British Columbia and on the prairies of Western Canada, where he witnessed tbe growth of those vast areas. Twice has he toured world and spoken in nearly every Eng-lish-speaking country. The Rev. William Gilmour, 8.A., or Wellington, who spent 25 years in Canada, speaks of Dr. Lang as one of Canada’s distinguished men. whose lectures should do much toward creating a more helpful understanding between the peoples of our two sister Dominions. Included in Dr. Lang’s programme of lecturing and preaching are addresses to Rotary Chibs, college students, high school pupils and broadcasts from the four YA stations Th< visit of this gifted lecturer should give the people of New Zealand a unique opportunity of receiving first-hand information on the current problems and achievements of Canada.
