ANNUAL BANQUET

Round Table Club The annual banquet held by the Business and Professional Women’s Round Table Club on a recent evening in the Blue Triangle Hall, was a most successful evening’s enjoyment. Between 70 and 80 club members and guests were present, the guest of honour being Dr. Sylvia Chapman. Mrs. Knox Gilmer, Miss Plimmer, Miss Irvine Smith. Miss Batham, Miss Jean Stevenson, Y.W.C.A. Dominion secretary, were also present. Gay autumntinted flowers, foliage and decorative candles made effective decorations. Toasts of “The King.” “Ont Guests,” “The Women of the Future” and “Friends of the Club” were proposed and given with musical honours, and several delightful items were Interspersed during the evening. Dr. Sylvia Chapman gave a brief account of what women were doing abroad in various professions and gave interesting word pictures of some of the notable women of different countries whom she had met The evening ended with a vote of appreciation to Miss Fitzgerald, the president, for all she bad done during her year of office, and to Miss Madson, ' secretary, for her indefatigable efforts on behalf of the club.

Mrs. M. J. Hodgins and her daughters. Misses M. K. and K. H. Hodgins, of Lower Hutt, left for Rotorua by last evening’s limited.
