Government Loans Wanted INDUSTRIALS ACTIVE No special activity was noted in the Wellington stock and share markets, which, apart from a keen demand to Government loans, was inclined to be quiet. Government stocks were firm at late rates, but supplies were very scarce and the only recorded business was a sale of 4 per cent, bonds, 193 d, at ±lO4. The remainder of the day’s sales was confined'to industrial and trading issues and mining shares. Banks were quiet and a shade ea «* er ’ E., S. and A.’s were 2/- down at £b/3/-, sellers £6/7/-, and New Zealands were marked down 6d. to 45/-. Union Steam preference were a little firmer at 26/6, no sellers. Kaiapoi Woollens showed signs of hardening, and Wellington Woollens were steady at the recent advance. "Breweries were firm, New Zealands soilin’ at 52/3. Staples were quoted 6d. higher at 34/-, sellers asking 34/9. There was it' good demand for miscellaneous industrial and trading issues. Australian Glass eased (kl. to 88/6, but seller# held for 92/-. Broken Hill Proprietary had sales at 61/-. Mount Lyells were firm on business at 25/-.
